The meetings organized by El Papel Magazine have become in matter of study for some business schools due to the impact on the many businesses’ activity.
The main conception of Marketplace has always been "building relationships" and this expression resembles many other similar which were not supported by facts. In the case of Marketplace this assertion comes alive in a particular way by means of the support of the organizers and participants. Talking about the latest edition, held in Miami from 4 to June 7, we can say that the organization cared for all the details so that the most important stationery players can meet together: previous and post final selection of candidates; initial invitation; spaces’ planning and definition; logistics and development of the meetings’ schedule with an special software for that, were some of the tasks that El Papel team carried out with enthusiasm and, above all, efficiently. The development and managing of the event were the best confirmation.
But in any real building relationship, the attitude of all persons involved is crucial. Without the confidence of those who participated, without their willpower that enabled them to face long working hours and without the willingness to get together inside and outside of the meetings, the Marketplace had not culminated successfully.
The Markeplace of the Americas is a buyer-seller meeting, it is not the first nor the only in the stationery sector but those involved in it use to say: "I never felt so well in a meeting like this", "such amount of meeting makes me get exhausted but the results are very good", "here I could do what I could never achieve in a trade fair: talking to whom I was interested and, after the spent time that enables the meeting, I now feel that I am doing business with someone who I know. " These comments, pointing to very important details of human relationships and business, make the difference.
This is what has attracted the attention of some centers that have decided to study and understand this new meeting way. This assertion may seem a bit unbelievable for some reader who has not experienced the "environment" of a Marketplace organized by El Papel Magazine. If the reference makes dismiss your skepticism, we say that you can confirm this fact by contacting the School of Business at the Universidad del Mar in Chile. The Communication & Business subject has incorporated it into its curriculum
